Standard versus Widescreen Aspect Ratios:
The image below demonstrates the importance of determining your aspect ratio when selecting your ViewGuard® product. Manufacturers publish LCD display sizes based on the diagonal measurement of the screen excluding the plastic framing. Knowing the aspect ratio in addition to the diagonal measurement can be advantageous in order to ensure proper fit. Most sized LCD displays are available in both standard and widescreen formats. The most popular aspect ratio for standard format displays is the 4:3 aspect ratio outside of 17.0" and 19.0" displays, which are commonly found using the 5:4 aspect ratio. The most popular aspect ratio for widescreen format displays is currently the 16:10 aspect ratio but LCD TVs commonly use a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Our ViewGuard® Display Calculator can automatically determine the aspect ratio of the display you are using to browse this web site. Please click here to use the ViewGuard® Display Calculator.
