ViewGuard® 2008 Year in Review
Thanks to you, our customer, 2008 was an excellent year and we are expecting our 2009 to be even better. Despite the current economic climate, we are continuing to introduce new and improved products to meet your demands. In 2008, in addition to launching the new and improved version of our ViewGuard Anti-Glare Privacy Filter, we have introduced five new product lines: ViewGuard Anti-Glare Matte Screen Protectors; ViewGuard Crystal Clear High-Gloss Screen Protectors; ViewGuard LCD TV Anti-Glare Filter; ViewGuard Anti-Static, Alcohol-Free LCD Screen Cleaning Wipes; and ViewGuard Anti-Static, Anti-Bacterial Keyboard and Mouse Wipes. In 2009, we are expecting to launch a new product line per quarter and we hope you continue to provide us with feedback.
In 2008, we are proud to say that our order fulfillment processes have continued to improve and 98.9% of orders ship within 24-hours of receipt. 99.5% of orders ship with 48-hours and 99.8% of orders ship within 72-hours. The remaining 0.2% of orders that don't ship within the 72-hour window are usually custom orders or backorders and we attempt to ship those as quickly as possible. Our repeat customers may have noticed that the item numbers for our ViewGuard® Anti-Glare Frameless Privacy Filters have been slowly changing over the last few of months. We have secretly been replacing our older generation ViewGuard® Anti-Glare Frameless Privacy Filter with a new and improved model. The transition will soon be complete and all new item numbers will start with VG-1. Coming Soon - New Custom Shipping Cartons
Since we have upgraded to our new shipping cartons in January the number of damaged shipments during transit is now virtually zero. Unfortunately, the new shipping cartons are larger than we would like. In order to be more environmentally friendly, a team is looking at new custom shipping boxes that will protect your order during transit and minimize on space. Smaller boxes mean lighter shipments and cheaper shipping options.
Tips & Tricks - Everything You Did (and Didn't) Want to Know About Aspect Ratios
We get a lot of questions about screen sizes and aspect ratios. An aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of your display. Displays with the same size diagonal measurements can have different aspect ratios based on the mathematical concepts of a triangle. If you remember calculus and the Pythagorean Theorem (a^2+b^2=c^2) then you may remember that the same length hypotenuse can have multiple corresponding sets of legs. In the display world the aspect ratio is the ratio between those two legs or the viewable width-to-height ratio of the monitor. Also, in the display world the hypotenuse is commonly referred to as the diagonal measurement. In short, the aspect ratio is simply the ratio in size of the viewable width and height of a display. Knowing the aspect ratio and diagonal measurement of a display will allow you to mathematically calculate the exact dimensions of your screen. We know the above explanation is extremely long winded and complicated so we have made it simple for you determine what is the aspect ratio of the display you are using to view this web page. Tips & Tricks - Screen Protector Installation
A handful of customers have inquired about the best method to remove trapped dust or debris from underneath their screen protector during installation. If you have dust or debris trapped on the silicone coating of your screen protector, peel back the screen protector and use the adhesive-side of cellophane tape to remove the unwanted particles. Once removed you can reapply the screen protector as per the instructions. Any trapped air bubbles will slowly dissipate over time. Visit our Installation & Care section of our website to learn more.

Tips & Tricks - Cheaper Shipping Costs
Due to dimensional weight pricing and the unique size of our products we recommend that you select ground shipping during checkout. All larger items shipped via air will be priced using the respective shipping carriers dimension weight pricing structure. Therefore, a 2 lbs package would likely rated at 8 or 10 lbs based on dimensional based pricing. Ground shipping is the best option if you are interested in reducing shipping costs. Ground shipping to California is usually only 3 business days and ground shipping to the east coast is usually only 3-5 business days. Lastly, if you are shipping to a commercial address you can select the option "This address is a business" during checkout for less expensive commercial shipping options.

Despite our business demeanor, the ViewGuard® brand and Intelligen do care about the earth and the environment. Just like everyone else, the team here loves great retail packaging. There is nothing cooler than four-color packaging with a novel design. With that said, I doubt many of our customers keep our empty packaging laying around the office like we do. If you do, we would love to see pictures. Anyhow, our package engineers have come up with environmentally smart packaging for our screen protector lines. The packaging is a simple black envelope manufactured of thick cardstock recyclable paper. Once you have installed your ViewGuard® product, instead of throwing away the packaging you can use it as a carry case or portfolio. Alternatively, you can use it to ship photos to a friend or store some important documents. Just remember, reduce, reuse, recycle.

We have launched a new product line, the ViewGuard® Crystal Clear High-Gloss Screen Protector, this week. The product was developed at the request of a large number of our customers who wanted to convert their traditional displays into the more popular high-gloss version. The ViewGuard® Crystal Clear High-Gloss Screen Protector simulates the popular high-gloss finish available on high-end laptops, which produces sharper tones, crisper images and more brilliant colors. Similar to the Anti-Glare Matte Screen Protector, the ViewGuard® Crystal Clear High-Gloss Screen Protector is a thin film backed with a residue-free silicone coating.

New Shipping Cartons = Undamaged Shipments
I apologize to the handful of customers that have received damaged shipments over the last few weeks. Luckily, most of the enclosed items were safe-and-sound but we have decided to upgrade our shipping cartons because some of our shipping partners (you know who you are) like to destroy shipments during transit. It is important that our customers receive their orders undamaged and in a timely manner. As a result, we are introducing some new shipping cartons to prevent damage in transit.
New Order Fulfillment Center Online
Our new order fulfillment center is now fully online after a few months of transition. The new order fulfillment center is located in Colorado and now we can handle a much larger order volume per day. We picked a more central location in order to allow quicker ground shipping to all parts of the USA. Ground shipping to California is only 3 days and most of the east coast can be reached in 3-5 days. We recommend placing your order with ground shipping due to new dimensional weight pricing enforced by all shipping carriers.
